71.80 lakh employees will be given the benefit of the scheme

Now this target has been increased to 71.80 lakh beneficiaries. 71.80 beneficiaries will be covered through this scheme. This information has been provided by Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav in Lok Sabha.

Till July 12, 2021, 22.57 lakh employees of 84,390 institutions have been provided a benefit of Rs.993.26 crore through this scheme. This scheme was launched last year under Atmanirbhar Bharat Package 3.0. The scheme is being implemented through the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization.

The main objective of launching the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme is to encourage employers to create jobs. Through this scheme, those employees will also be benefited whose job has been lost due to coronavirus infection and they have not worked in any EPF covered institution till 30 September 2020. This scheme has now been extended by the government till 31 March 2022.

The benefit will be provided till 30 March 2022

On 28 June 2021, by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the scope of the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme has been extended till 30 March 2022. This scheme was started on 1 October 2020 to 30 June 2021. Now, this scheme will be operated till 30 March 2022. The last date to register under this scheme is 30 July 2021. Employers will be encouraged to create employment through the Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana.

This incentive will be done by the government by depositing the Provident Fund contribution of the employee and the employer. If there are more than 1000 employees in an organization, then in this case only the employee contribution will be deposited by the government.

The benefit of this scheme will be provided for 2 years to all those employees whose monthly income is less than ₹ 15000 or ₹ 15000. A total amount of Rs 22810 crore will be spent by the government for the operation of this scheme. So that 58.50 lakh beneficiaries will be benefited from this scheme. An amount of Rs 902 crore has been spent till 18 June 2021 to benefit 21.42 lakh beneficiaries of 79577 institutions.

21 lakh employees got new jobs

Under the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme, an expenditure of Rs 22810 crore has been made. Due to which 21 lakh new employees have been appointed. The benefit of this scheme can be availed by only those employees whose monthly income is less than ₹ 15000 and they were not working in any organization which is registered with EPFO ​​before 1st October 2020. Apart from this, it is also mandatory for the employees to have a UAN number. If the salary of an employee is less than ₹ 15000 and he is a member of EPFO, then he will be provided the benefit of this scheme only if he has lost his job between 1 May 2020 to 30 September 2020. During this period the employee should not be associated with any company which is registered with EPFO.

16.5 lakh beneficiaries got the benefit of the scheme

The self-reliant India Employment Scheme has been started to compensate for the loss of employment during the corona transition. Under this scheme, the employee’s provident fund will be contributed by the government for 2 years on the new appointments. This contribution will be 12%–12% of the salary. Employers will be encouraged to create employment through this scheme. So far about 16.5 lakh citizens have been benefited under this scheme. Beneficiaries (employees) of PM Aatmnirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana

Employees whose salary is less than ₹ 15000 and who were not employed in any EPFO ​​registered establishment before 1 October 2020 and did not have Universal Account Number or EPF Member Account Number before 1 October 2020.
